The Qu-SB is a digital audio console designed to be controlled by iPad, providing a flexible solution for bands, installations and audio professionals. It has 18 inputs and 14 outputs, and can be expanded by connecting one of Allen & Heath’s AudioRacks to Cat5. Together with Qu-You (an application for Android and iOS), Qu-SB is the perfect choice for bands who want excellent sound, wherever they play.
QU-Pad Mixing App
The Qu-SB is designed to be fully controlled by the iPad, QU-APP application, providing us with fast, easy access to all the necessary settings, such as channel settings, RTA, FX Rack, USB control Audio, Setup menus and more.
The QU-Pad application connects to the mixer via Wi-Fi (with the corresponding router) and gives us the freedom to set our monitors on stage, as well as to move freely to the audience, adjusting Live tensions from there!
ANALOGIQ ™ Preamps
The QU-SB features 16 ANALOGIQ TM pre-amplifiers with totalrecall and Padless 1dbGainstage, which work best with the DSP for ultimate sound quality. The analog signal is recorded by high-precision, low-latency, 24-bitADconverters and reproduced by DAC of the same quality. The AnalogiQ system has been tuned for many months to provide transparency, minimal distortion and extremely low noise levels, along with a musical, warm sound that is missing from most digital consoles.
Forget software drivers and settings! QU has a built-in multitrack USB recorder, delivering 18 48kHz quality recording channels, 24bit, as well as playback from a USB Hard Drive. FX and Mix channels can be recorded at the same time, giving us the possibility of a “virtual” soundcheck. Also, a separate set of settings is provided for fast LR channel recording, and 2track USB returns can be routed to ST3 to play WAV files.
Automatic Mix Mixer (AMM)
AMM is necessary in applications such as conferences, meetings where many microphones are open at the same time, thus reducing environmental noise and the risk of microphone. This feature allows us to manipulate the microphone voltages so that each speaker can be heard. Each channel has a Priority slider so that each microphone has its own “weight” throughout the mix.
USB Audio Streaming
QU has built-in USB Interface that gives us multitrack audio to our PC or Mac via a flexible Patching system: all input channels can be recorded at the same time, or we can choose to record something else like FX or a couple of Mixes .
The QU-SB can be expanded to up to 38 inputs via dSNAKE, with a very easy connection via Cat5 and with Rack AB168, AR2412 or AR84. DSNAKE is the Allen & Heath Networking solution that adds us 105μs latency to a 120m cable.
AudioRack gives all the power of Qu-SB, delivering outputs for Stereo Matrix, Group and Extra Monitor Mix.
